“Women Leading The Finance Industry”

Professor Dr. Carmela Aprea, Chair of Economic and Business Education – Design and Evaluation of Instructional Systems, talks about financial and life advice in an interview with Authority Magazine.

As part of the series “Women Leading The Finance Industry”, Prof. Dr. Carmela Aprea was interviewed by Authority Magazine about her research on financial independence. Prof. Aprea focuses on how to teach people who are not economic experts how to manage their money and become financially independent in a positive and effective way. She emphasizes that all areas of life are strongly linked to financial aspects and that understanding economics and finance can also be a powerful tool to achieve social goals.

Prof. Aprea attributes the fact that Wall Street and finance have become more diverse in recent years to various events, such as increased accountability, changing social norms and the rise of social movements. But the monetary benefits of a diverse workforce are also a factor, she says. To drive diversity in the finance industry and empower women in leadership positions, Prof. Aprea looks at individual, company-based and societal approaches, which she explains in the interview.

In the article, Prof. Aprea also reveals her most important financial tips and advises, among other things, not to forget that money can't buy the best things in life when investing. She also talks about her role models, her attitude to life and what inspires her.
