Ruth Schültken receives the Südwestmetall Dissertation Award

Ruth Schültken was awarded the Südwestmetall sponsorship prize for her outstanding dissertation “Intra- and inter-organizational misalignment problems in supply management.” In her work, she investigated how discrepancies arise between companies' sustainability intentions and their actual purchasing behavior. She also looks at the misalignment between the sustainability expectations of buying companies and the performance of their suppliers. The incompatibility between agile product development and traditional procurement processes also forms a dissertation component. The thesis aims to identify causes, effects, and solutions for these misalignments to improve supply chains' performance and sustainability.
Ruth Schültken is continuing her academic career at the University of Mannheim. She is currently working as a postdoc at the Chair.
The awards, which are endowed with 5,000 euros each, have been presented for over 35 years. The award-winning dissertations significantly contribute to the industrial world of work and its socio-political framework conditions.
