Teaching Award for Sven Vahlpahl

The 2024 CDSB Teaching Award went to Sven Vahlpahl for the course Python in Finance. The Teaching Award honors the contributions of CDSB doctoral students to teaching and learning at the Business School.

Python in Finance was first offered in Spring Semester 2024 to help students develop a toolkit for empirical work in their studies and careers. It was devised and taught by Sven Vahlpahl. The course commences with fundamentals, covers analysis and visualization, and finishes with web scraping and machine learning, providing students with the necessary prerequisites for a successful thesis.
