Business Analytics courses in the upcoming spring term

Dear students,

the Chair of Production Management will offer two master's courses in the upcoming spring term:

• OPM 661: Business Analytics – Robust Planning in Stochastic Systems
• OPM 662: Business Analytics – Modeling and Optimization

Both of these courses aim to gain practical insights in Business Analytics with the programming language Python. OPM 661 focuses on analytical solution approaches from predictive and prescriptive analytics to support robust decisions. On the other hand, OPM 662 focuses on prescriptive analytics techniques such as modeling and optimization. Both courses are taught in an integrated manner (lectures + exercises), where students have to work on programming exercises and graded assignments both individually and in groups.  

Please note that both OPM 561 and OPM 560 are prerequisites for these courses. Other courses may be accepted on request (OPM 560 may be replaced with another programming-oriented course, for example “Schlüsselqualifikation 1: Programmierkurs Python” for business math./inf. students). Due to limited capacity, please make sure to register by February 6^th through Portal2 (portal2.uni-mannheim.de). The first sessions are on February 19^th (OPM 662) and on February 20^th (OPM 661).
