Company Days @Business School – Great Success of the New Event Series

The Business School of the University of Mannheim offers numerous opportunities to combine theory and practice outside the lecture halls. On 31 March and 3 April 2023 the “Company Days @Business School” took place in Mannheim for the first time. Students majoring or minoring in business administration were able to participate.

The Company Days @Business School have once again shown how important realistic insights into the work of different companies can be. The Business School has been aware of this need for a long time and is continuously developing new formats to bring students into contact with companies from different industries. Thanks to the excellent corporate partnerships, numerous students were able to make contacts in the business world last week.

“The more than 160 applications show how high the interest of our students is to get to know exciting companies on campus. Thanks to our partner association, we are in close exchange with more than 40 high-caliber companies, ensuring a diverse offering,” said Dean Joachim Lutz.

The bundled event format was very well received by the participating students, who particularly emphasized the better plannability compared to individual events during the semester and the diversity of the different event formats. “What I found particularly good about the Company Days was the opportunity to gain insights into different industries through the large number of participating partner companies,” says Franziska Müller. “During the interview training with BCG, the representatives took a lot of time for our questions and not only explained the procedure of an application, but also worked on a possible case study with us in small groups. At the subsequent get-together, we were also able to ask personal questions and talk to the representatives,” says the master's student.

However, the event was not only valuable for the students: partner companies from a wide range of industries had the opportunity to exchange ideas with the students in a relaxed atmosphere of workshops and other formats and thus also to identify potential talents. Whether interview training with BCG, laser tag with Hilti or a business lunch with Würth – there was something suitable for every one of the 104 participants.

We would like to build on this year's success next spring.

These companies were part of the Company Days @Business School: BCG, Capgemini Invent, DZ Bank, HILTI, KPMG, LVMH, OMMAX, Würth.
