Excellent rating for research and teaching in the field of auditing

Ranking by manager magazin gives University of Mannheim top marks for training future auditors

The University of Mannheim is a leader in the training of future auditors. This is the conclusion of the manager magazin ranking published in March 2022. In the ranking, which was compiled on the basis of a survey of 89 auditing companies and their more than 1,200 clients, Mannheim was one of only two institutions in total to receive the rating “Excellent.

For its annual special “Germany's Best Auditors,” manager magazin 2022 also included academic training opportunities for the profession. The participating companies were asked for their assessment of which universities or colleges best qualify their students for a career as an auditor.

The University of Mannheim has long held an exceptional position in the German university landscape in the field of auditing in research and teaching. The best example is the Mannheim Master of Accounting & Taxation (MaMAT), which has been offered since 2008 by Mannheim Business School, the organizational umbrella for management education at the University of Mannheim. The part-time program is regarded as a premium education for future managers in auditing and tax consulting and has now been successfully completed by around 650 participants. Initiator and academic director of the accounting track of this study program is Professor Dr. Jens Wüstemann, holder of the Chair of Business Administration, Accounting & Auditing .
