Spring 2023 – Planning of the Endowed Chair of Procurement

The team of the Endowed Chair of Procurement hopes all Mannheim students enjoy their winter break and are gathering energy for a successful new semester. The start of the semester is still a few weeks away, but we would like to highlight already the most important information for a smooth semester start.

Check out our spring semester course offerings here or directly put the following dates in your calendar:

  1. Bachelor students:
    • OPM 452 Processes and Strategies of Negotiation: Kickoff is Friday, February-24, 08:30 o'clock in SN 169 (Note: This course is capacity-constrained; central enrollment is mandatory and competition for spaces may occur) (see our flyer video)
    • Mannheim Gap Year, Operations Management Track: Application deadline is February-28.
    • Thesis: Sample topics for a bachelor thesis at our chair can be found here. For those who will write their thesis with us, please note the following dates:
      • For Wi.-Päd.: Publication of topics: February-14 / Kickoff: February-21, 12:00 o'clock (in SO 322)
      • For BWL: Publication of topics: March-27 / Kickoff: April-18, 12:00 o'clock (in SO 322)
  2. MMM students:
    • OPM 510 Sustainable Operations: Kickoff is Thursday, March-28, 10:15 o'clock in O 151
    • OPM 692 Strategic Sourcing: Kickoff is Tuesday, February-14, 08:30 o'clock in O 131. The course features a case challenge with Porsche AG (10% of final grade).
    • OPM 693 Sourcing Excellence and Global Innovation Challenge: Please see the details here.
    • Summer School on Global Value Chains: We will participate in an summer school that takes place from July 31 – August 11, 2023 in Chon Buri, Thailand. The 2-week program can be registered as an International Course. There will only be a few places for Mannheim students; if you are interested, please write us a short email (procurementmail-uni-mannheim.de).
    • Thesis: If you are interested in writing your master thesis with us during this semester, please see the current list of topics via our ILIAS group (registration required).
  3. Everybody: Save-the-date for one of our semester highlights, the “Wissenschaftliches Symposium Supply Management” which takes place on March-06 and March-07. It is entirely free for students. More details in all our courses.
