New partner company: Südzucker AG

The association “Partner der Mannheimer Betriebswirtschaftslehre” has gained another valuable member with Südzucker AG.

The Südzucker AG, headquartered in Mannheim, is considered the largest sugar producer in Europe and one of the leading food companies in Germany. As an international group of companies, Südzucker has been supplying the food industry and other processing industries for almost 200 years. The company contributes with around 18,000 employees in over 100 production sites worldwide to a more sustainable world with plant-based products and solutions for nutrition, energy and other applications.

The Business School of the University of Mannheim is excited to welcome the new member to its partner network. Dr. Niels Pörksen, CEO of Südzucker AG, will represent the company in the partner association. Pörksen says about the new cooperation: “We are looking forward to a successful cooperation with the University of Mannheim, Business School. It is not only the same location and the international orientation that connect us. We have also recruited and successfully developed numerous Mannheim graduates. Therefore, it is a matter of concern to us to specifically promote business studies at the University of Mannheim with this partnership.” Dean Joachim Lutz, former CEO of Südzucker subsidiary CropEnergies has strong ties with the company and is pleased to bring the company and Mannheim business students together. “Young and committed people are looking with great interest at future challenges regarding development, production and provision of plant-based solutions for nutrition and energy. I am delighted that Südzucker AG will be providing strategic support to Mannheim's business students from now on.”, says Lutz.

Mannheim students can expect interesting events and guest lectures with the new partner company, where they can learn more about the Südzucker AG as a company and employer.

As soon as the dates for the events have been set, they will be published on our corporate relations page.
