Analyze problems. Design strategies. Optimize operations. Shape the future.

Rooted in the strong research focus and practice orientation of Mannheim's Area Operations Management, the Mannheim Master in Operations & Supply Chain Management (MMOSCM) prepares you for leadership roles in global Operations & Supply Chain Management. The English-taught program combines current research in supply chain management with modern analytics methods and practice-oriented application. Building on the insight that matching supply and demand lies at the heart of every business model, you develop the analytical and managerial capabilities needed to succeed in today's competition and to lead effectively in the future.

Join an ambitious cohort at a leading European business school, strengthen your profile for the global job market, and shape the future of supply chains.

Why MMOSCM? End-to-end perspective, analytical breadth, decision focus, practice orientation!

Rather than focusing narrowly on a single dimension, MMOSCM integrates the four pillars of Mannheim's operations management signature into one coherent program, combining a comprehensive end-to-end supply chain perspective with analytical breadth and methodological depth:

  • End-to-end perspective on supply chains: Gain a holistic perspective on value creation across procurement, production, logistics, and service operations. Learn from faculty with strong research profiles and close ties to practice.
  • Full spectrum of business analytics: Develop competence in descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics to diagnose, model, and optimize complex operational and strategic decisions.
  • Decision focus on managerial levers and trade-offs: Build a rigorous toolkit of quantitative methods to tackle trade-offs and translate analysis into decisions.
  • Practice-oriented relevance: Apply concepts through cases, applied projects, and regular interaction with decision makers from industry.

Strategy and operational planning are treated as one integrated system, enabling you to develop a generalist, end-to-end understanding of how operational capabilities translate into competitive advantage and to act in complex environments.

In the “Foundations of Operations & Supply Chain Management” (28 ECTS) and “Business Analytics” (up to 18 ECTS) areas, you build a solid foundation in managerial approaches, analytical methods, and decision-making processes across the entire supply chain. In “Specialized Topics in Operations & Supply Chain Management” and “Business Interfaces,” you then tailor your profile to your career goals, for example in sustainability, risk management, or digital transformation, with a strong emphasis on modeling complex problems and using analytics to inform strategic decisions.
