Participation in the European project “EUComMeet – Innovative Participation Spaces to Support Democracy”

The Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Stuttgart, the University of Sienna and the College Carlo Alberto in Turin (Italy) offer students of the University of Mannheim an exciting opportunity to participate in three discussion events on innovative civic participation. ei is planned that two groups of 10 students each in the second bachelor year of the university / of a department (of a large lecture) will participate in three discussion events to be held in early November, late November and early December 2022.

As part of the research project “EUCom-Meet – Innovative Participation Spaces to Support Democracy”, students of the University of Mannheim can participate in researching the conditions under which the participation of citizens in informed discussions as well as learning as well as decision-making processes can be improved.

Students of the University of Mannheim can exchange ideas locally (with fellow students from the same university), nationally (with students from another city) and European (with students from other EU countries). The discussion will take place, among other things, via a digital platform for citizen participation developed in the project with a simulation software to be tested by the students.
