MBS Summer School 2023 Successfully Completed

Spending one to three weeks at a top-ranked business school in Germany, working on exciting topics and getting to know people from all over the world? The MBS Summer School offered this and much more from 26 June – 14 July.

Participants from all over the world took part in the three modules with focus on different aspects of business administration: Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Artificial Intelligence in Business and Designing Data-Driven Business Models. The program was accompanied by an exciting series of events outside the lecture room.

During the first week, the participants from India, Australia, the UK, the US, Ecuador, Germany, Peru, Indonesia, Uzbekistan, China, Iran, Bangladesh and Japan got introduced to the theoretical foundations and practical approaches of entrepreneurship and innovation. With hands-on input from business experts, they learned about leveraging AI in finance and spent some time exploring Mannheim and the surrounding region, for example at a wine tasting.

For the second module, students from Australia, USA, Japan, China, Zimbabwe, UK, Colombia, Spain, Ecuador, Taiwan, Bolivia, Mexico, and Indonesia got invaluable insights into Artificial Intelligence in Business. In addition to the lectures, they went on company visits to Kilthau Transport and Business Development Center Heidelberg, where the participants were introduced to KI LAB Heidelberg as well as the two AI startups paretos and HD Vision Systems. A guided tour through the famous old town of Heidelberg completed the module.

The final week of the program was dedicated to Designing Data-Driven Business Models and included a visit to TSG Hoffenheim’s Research Lab, which provided fascinating insights into possible uses for data analytics in sports and business. The participants worked in teams on ideas for implementing a data-driven business model for the company and enjoyed the Mannheim summer, the spectacular street art as well as German cuisine and beer at local restaurants.
