Germany's largest companies face the challenges of corporate volunteering in very different ways. Although this diversity should not be considered problematic per se, it is nevertheless important to define common landmarks for the implementation of corporate volunteering. We derived these from interviews with the DAX30 companies and a survey of more than 1,200 employees:
- The playing field: Define a clear framework for corporate volunteering.
- The impetus: Ask about employees' needs and consider them in the development of corporate volunteering.
- The coaching: Encourage employee engagement through credible leadership and top management support.
- The performance: Check achievement of goals through well-grounded impact assessment in order to allocate resources effectively.
