We are delighted to announce that Professor Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Christian Homburg has been honored with the prestigious 2025 Mahajan Award for Lifetime Contributions to Marketing Strategy Research.

The award is presented by the Marketing Strategy Special Interest Group (SIG) of the American Marketing Association (AMA). This highly distinguished prize recognizes scholars who have made pioneering contributions to marketing strategy research throughout their careers and have had a lasting impact on the field.

A Lifetime of Excellence in Marketing Science

Professor Homburg—Chair of the Department of B2B Marketing, Sales & Pricing at the University of Mannheim, Distinguished Professorial Fellow at the University of Manchester, and Director of the Institute for Marketing-Oriented Management (IMU)—is globally recognized as a leading expert in marketing, strategy, and innovation.

In its citation, the AMA particularly highlighted his groundbreaking work at the intersection of Customer Relationship Management (CRM), market-oriented management, and sales management. His research is characterized not only by theoretical excellence but also by its consistently high relevance for practical applications within the global economy.

Bridging Theory and Practice

In addition to his scientific contributions, Professor Homburg has shaped the discipline for decades through his commitment to academic teaching and leadership—including his roles at Mannheim Business School—and his extensive consulting work for leading international companies. His publications serve as a global benchmark for both scholars and business executives alike.

The official award ceremony will take place during the upcoming Winter AMA Conference in Madrid. The entire team at the Chair extends its warmest congratulations to Professor Homburg on this extraordinary recognition of his life's work.
